Sydney’s Hilton internationally acclaimed Zeta Bar has continues on its ‘Secret Garden’ campaign, complete with human statue – ‘Garden Butterfly’ delight model.

It was all happening and the garden came alive as its been doing for a few Thursday and Friday nights this Summer campaign.

If you haven’t been yet, fear not – Secret Garden mania and fever is hitting the Zeta most Friday for many months – the ‘Secret Garden’ will be awaiting you so be tempted and bite into the secret apples and anything else you can get your teeth into ladies and gents.

Commencing at 6 p.m, Zeta Bar’s outdoor terrace has been fancifully transformed into a magical garden with beautifully manicured lawns and garden furniture making it the perfect spot to while away a Friday afternoon.

“Working with the two can be difficult due to the delicate flavours of the wine," said Colin Tam, Zeta Bar head head bartender. "It’s highly important for both to be perfectly balanced, we don’t want to overpower the wine but at the same time ensuring that the flavours enhance the notes of the wine and compliment the flavours of the spirits.”

‘The Secret Garden’ has been whipped up by head bartender Colin and his highly trained Zeta Bar team who were also behind the successful ‘Coney Island’ and ‘Farmers Market’ concepts. Each of the Zeta mixologists has created a cocktail with inspirations ranging from their childhoods and interpretations of the book ‘The Secret Garden’.

The team from Human Statue Bodyart has secured a long term contract to help Hilton’s Zeta Bar make the dream a reality, by providing some of the talent (human statues and models) as well as other creative aspects to help make this seasons Zeta Bar promotion one of the greatest ever.

News…

Secret Garden At Hilton Sydney…

The folks at Hilton Sydney unveiled their latest incarnation – a themed cocktail lounge. The hotel’s Zeta Bar has been transformed into ‘The Secret Garden’ with a modern twist, and of course inventive drinks.

The bar itself is quite known locally as one of the best cocktail lounges and with a group of masterminds and mixologists, the hot bar comes alive with it’s latest them that is based on the beloved children’s novel. From happy hour on a Friday night to the wee hours of the morning, the lounge gets an overhaul with garden furniture, trees, beautifully manicured lawns and models covered in bodyart to host the city’s hip crowd ready to mingle.

You better believe the drinks are part of them if each master bartender is tasked with creating a special cocktail for the concept bar. Alcoholic Jell-O and Bellini popsicles all create a wonderland that is a feast for the senses as much for the eyes. If you’re looking to sample as a pair, the Tweedle Dum would suit; the gin-based cocktail is topped with Limoncello and sparkling wine and is served up in a smoking tea-pot.

This special theme is no fresh idea; these same creative minds were behind the previous concepts of ‘Coney Island’ and ‘Farmers Market’. With experience behind these guys, you know you’ll have a good time. Since this is a Summer celebration (remember, it’s Australia), the Secret Garden will need to go into hibernation and will see out the last few days of the season through the end of the month.

It was all happening last night, and the garden came alive again tonight also. If you haven’t been yet, fear not – Secret Garden mania and fever is hitting the Zeta every Friday for months – the ‘Secret Garden’ will be awaiting you so be tempted and bit into the secret apples and anything else you can get your teeth into ladies and gents.

Commencing at 6 p.m, Zeta Bar’s outdoor terrace has been fancifully transformed into a magical garden with beautifully manicured lawns and garden furniture making it the perfect spot to while away a Friday afternoon.

Guests will wander through the hedge lined terrace or perch in one of the garden pockets while listening to jazz presented by renowned Sydney band ‘The Press Club’.

All this combined with a range of specially concocted garden party inspired cocktails ranging from molecular to playful twists on classic cocktails. The menu features a mixture of sprightly and herbaceous cocktails including the Applicious Air, Tweedle Dum, Citric Bloom and the Secret Garden. Zeta’s gardeners will wander through the garden offering a selection of sparkling icy poles and jellies.

For the first time Zeta will serve a ‘Mistress Mary afternoon tea’ that’s quite contrary, guests can complement their cocktails, icy poles and jellies with a selection of chic bites that have been matched to the cocktails on offer. A mixture of sweet and savoury the menu features dainty sandwiches including crab, cucumber and watercress; and house smoked salmon, rocket and cream cheese served on homemade brioche.

The culinary playfulness continues with sweet treats such as raspberry mousse, chocolate and pistachio, an assortment of macarons; chamomile cremeux served with fried basil accompanied with classic home baked scones served with rose petal cream.

We took a road trip to Mason City, IA to stay @ the Historic Park Inn Hotel. The last remaining Frank Lloyd Wright designed and built hotel in the world. We stayed for two nights in the middle of the week in the Historic Suite. From the hotel website: "The Historic Suite was originally two guest rooms that shared a bathroom in between. It was sold as two separate rooms and considered quite an upgrade back in 1910. It has been restored to its original state, complete with wall mounted sinks, an original clawfoot tub and a full size brass bed. We have combined it to be rented as a two room suite with a private bath". What was interesting was that the manager called us about a week before our visit concerned that we had booked this suite but felt it would not be enough space for our family of four. We were offered the Premier Suite as a free upgrade. The only problem we told them was we wanted the two rooms so the children could go to bed early & the adults could stay up longer. The Premier was only one large room. They understood & we kept our reservations as is. very thoughtful. The children enjoyed the stay but were let down by the lack of a pool. Then during our tour of the building, we were told there was a "ballroom" & that we could tour that as well. The children’s eyes lit up @ that offer. Then when we got to the large open room, they looked around for the "ball pit" & were quite disappointed. All was made right when the end of our trip included a stay @ the Blue Harbor Water-park resort in Sheboygan, Wi which did have a pool. But still, no ball pit.
